stfuprolifers:

kor71:

If you think abortions ok, remember what Horton says.

Awkward. Dr. Seuss and his wife were really liberal and pro-choice. They’ve even threatened to sue pro-life organizations for using this quote the wrong way (the way you’re doing it actually). I guess you didn’t already know that Horton Hears a Who is about the American occupation of Japan post-WWII. He even dedicated it to his dear Japanese friend.
Mrs. Geisel (Mrs. Seuss) continued donating to Planned Parenthood and advocating for reproductive health and rights after her husband died.

Men’s Issues

satanicblastbeats:

littlespacecase:

  • Societal expectations of masculinity
  • Societal expectations to provide for women
  • No long term reversible male birth control
  • Men who are raped are more likely to remain silent and be dismissed or outright laughed at
  • Unfair treatment in child custody battles
  • No support for male victims of domestic abuse
  • Media portrayal of married men as weak morons

Not men’s issues

  • The friend zone
  • Women not dating you
  • “Fucking femnazis”

So, I'm just a 25 year old chick almost done with my masters in divinity. (Proud Presbyterian...whoop whoop!) In fact, I'm most likely on my dash instead of writing a paper due today. But I'll be a hospital chaplain soon and then it'll be paperwork. I like studying religion because it's the most fascinating way to learn about the way people think and act. Culture nerd? Yes.

I'm from New Orleans so you'll see me talk about my obsession with home on here but I'm currently in Texas and have strong family ties here, so Texas is my home, too. I love football in all forms (Saints, UT, A&M, Tulane), basketball (Rockets, Hornets), hockey (Dallas Stars), baseball (Houston Astros)...and pretty much all kind of 100% A+ quality literature. Oh, and letting all people get married is pretty cool, too.

Fandoms: Harry Potter, Supernatural, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Starkid, The Hunger Games, Les Mis, Adventure Time, John Green, Disney, Pixar, Arrested Development, Spongebob, Bates Motel, Awkward., disgruntled Gleek.

Oh, and don't let that whole love for Jesus thing scare you away. I assure you I'm normal and don't want to convert you. I also may or may not worship the gods of Diet Coke more often than Jesus. Sue me.
